Rodney Rockets to Webster City Sweep

I'm hoping next month I can attend a few of the USMTS Memorial Day shows in person and keep my streak of at least 1 USMTS show a year active. If the Doctor thinks it's too soon, I'll continue to recap from the recliner until I get the green flag.

Top 10 Recap:
1) Rodney Sanders:  Almost a carbon copy of last night, took advantage of the leaders getting into to lap traffic and passed both.  This was career win #123 with the USMTS and getting warmed up just in time for the traditional Memorial Day swing.

2) Zack VanderBeek: Bested himself from the night before after making some changes to his VanderBuilt #33.  Happy with the balance of the car after a King of America weekend he'd rather forget. TBD on next race but the Memorial Day swing hits some tracks he's found Victory Lane.

3) Jim Chisholm: Good weekend for the 24c team.  Took advantage of the moisture to get him into the Featherlite top 3 podium.

4) Alex Williamson: I feel I could cut and paste last nights recap.  Suffered a flat LR tire early in the feature.  Once again, picked up the hard charger award and moved into the top 5 in points.  Thanked the other teams who helped his team with the tire change.  He mentioned he's just trying to earn the respect of others while being a low budget team.  After the start he's had, I'm sure teams are taking notice of the 15w team.

5) Joe Chisholm: Started on the front row and led a lap early in the feature.  Just like many of the drivers in the top 10, he'd drop back only to charge back towards the front.  Joe's another driver looking forward to visiting many tracks he's raced weekly at next month.

6) Kyle Brown: If Kyle could, he'd lift Hamilton County Speedway and put it in his backyard.  Good momentum weekend for the 21k. Best of luck to the Brown family on their newest addition coming to the family soon.  Here's to a smooth delivery and enjoying all the memories.

7) Terry Phillips: A off weekend for TP.  Ended it with a +10 change from start to finish in the A-main.  His previous finishes during the Memorial Day swing will have the 75 team optimistic for climbing back up in the points.

8) Trevor Hughes: A steady weekend, the multi day shows at the same track helped with his learning curve.  The break from USMTS will be good to freshen equipment and possibly hit the local tracks for more laps.

9) Tanner Mullens: One of those weekends for the 02 team.  Hard to pass in the heat races, stuck in b-mains, worked hard for his top 10 tonight.  Will be looking forward to some weekly shows close to home during the USMTS break.

10) Keith Foss: Two top 10's for the 95 team this weekend.  Just like a few other drivers, yo-yo'd in the top 10 before slipping back to 10th at the finish.  Between King of America and Webster City, it's been a good run for Keith leading up to the weekly shows back home.

Honorable Mention: I wanted to do something different this weekend and recognize some photographers that were in attendance this weekend.  There was several in attendance likely, these were the two that popped up in my search.  Regardless support your local track photographers and help support their efforts weekly.

Danielle Ayers Photography: I was Facebook searching who'd be at Webster City and came across her page.  She's a talented photographer who's been at several tracks already this year. Along with a variety of nature, weather and animal shots.  Give her a follow to find which tracks she'll be at this year.  Included is her webpage for those interesting in purchasing photos and supporting her work. It's still in development but the opening night was very good. Continued success in all your work on and off the track. USMTS HCS 4/11/25 - Danielle Ayers

Buck Monson Photo: I've been a follower of Mr. Monson's work for the over 10 years, at least.  In my opinion, he is one of the most respected photographers in the country.  It doesn't matter what series, what track or what class, his work is done with nothing short of professionalism and pride.  Well respected among the drivers and teams, his business ranges from driver's cards, hats, shirts, clocks, covers for cars.  You name it, he'll find a way to get it produced.  His link for his website is included here.  Thanks for everything you've done for the racing community! www.buckmonsonphoto.com

Honorable Mention 1.2: This one will be a personal one and the reason behind the title and why I'm doing this. Back in October, I had surgery for a double right rotator cuff tear, torn right shoulder labrum, and torn right bicep.  Needless to stay it's been quite the experience and recovery process. My Doctor told me to expect at least a 6-to-9 month recovery for everything he had to repair. For several months I've been in my recliner.  Between sleeping, therapy, recovery and doing these recaps. At the beginning it was fun typing with one arm while my right arm was in a sling or I was only allowed to do so much. These have kept my spirits up when I've had many bumps in the road personally the past 6 months.  It was only fitting our discord group came up with the name Recliner Reactions. I'm hoping next month I can attend a few of the USMTS Memorial Day shows in person and keep my streak of at least 1 USMTS show a year active. If the Doctor thinks it's too soon, I'll continue to recap from the recliner until I get the green flag.  Thanks for following along and with the growing of the DirtInfo webpage.  :)

Follow Along: DirtInfo | Dirt Racing Analysis & Opinions  My writings can be found here.  As they say, things are "in the works" for some other projects.  Right now, I'll recap all the USMTS events, either in person, or thanks to the fine folks at RacinDirt | USMTS, Dirt Modifieds & Live Racing Streams.  The nights I'm at the track and in the pits,  I'll have a race recap similar to my Mason City USMTS fair race article. A modified version of the Recliner Reactions those nights will still be available.

DirtInfo - YouTube I have a voice and face for writing so you won't see me here :).  A weekly podcast my discord friends put on with a buffet of racing topics, series, schedules and other topics of interest.  I will toss them a USMTS nugget or two when asked. More importantly, they'll always leave you with "One for the Road'.
