Top 10 Recap:
- Jim Chisholm: It's very rare to see the 24c have two bad nights in a row. Good medicine in victory lane after last night's performance. Jim mentioned in victory lane he loves the big jumbotron that Wheatland offers in turn 3. The closest thing to spotters that USMTS allows. The only thing missing was oversized green and black signal sticks with 24C on them.
- Reece Solander: Graduate of the b-mod class, gave Jim a run for his money for the win. Thought he had something for him late, until his American Racer right rear was used up. Impressive showing for the rookie and the Hodges Brothers Racing team. This move the rookie into the top 10 for points.
- Cade Dillard: One could only hope Cade would jump back on the USMTS tour again after this weekend. Maybe in the future. Midway through the feature The Thriller was thinking of pulling in running mid-pack. Car finally woke up and charged to 3rd place. CDR cars finished 3rd through 6th last night.
- Stormy Scott: Scott joked he was cautiously excited after his 4th place run. He knew "my buddy in the tech barn was waiting for him again". (previous night he was DQ'd after the b-main tech). Calling this a building year trying to get marketing partners and parts ready for next year.
- Kyle Strickler: Starting 22nd, whatever changes the team threw at it in the pits, the car and driver charged through the field. After a rough start to King of America XVI, the team appears to be going in the right direction for a crown.
- Chad Wheeler: Ran top 3 most of the night before fading late. A good showing none the less after the previous night wasn't up to the standards the team expects to have at Wheatland.
- Bobby Williams: Another local b-mod driver who only has a handful of races with a modified. Put together a great night in all 3 phases of the program and was rewarded with a top 10 effort.
- Alex Williamson: Another top 10 effort from the 15w team. This continues his streak of top 10 finishes, many of them quietly done. His team may not be the biggest in terms of funding, but it is one of the biggest in heart, effort, and determination.
- Tanner Mullens: Not the result he'd normally be happy with. Inches closer to the points lead, if not for Jim's max points effort. Similar to many drivers, a better points position than where Tanner was sitting last year at this time.
- Joe Duvall: As they say, why say no when it feels good saying yes to another top 10 finish. Ran mid-pack most of the race but brings it back in one piece. His prior success at Wheatland is showing this weekend. Could we see a King Big Daddy XVI crowned tomorrow night? That'd be a party you'd need to have at a property at Wheatland to cover. Especially with a lake next to the track.
Honorable Mention: 72 USMTS modifieds in attendance last night. Those are the types of numbers I'm used to seeing at the Featherlite Fall Jamboree back in the good old days. (Given there were 100+). A nice shot in the arm for this crown jewel race given the off-season changes to this event.
Honorable Mention 1.2 (No not the XR 1.2 Rocket) Currently we have 3 Grant Junghans ROTY contenders (Joe Chisholm, Reece Solander, and Trevor Hughes) running in the top 10. All 3 have already collected a top 5, including Joe Chisholm getting a win this year. Each have progressed to this level in a variety of classes and type of motorsports.

DirtInfo | Dirt Racing Analysis & Opinions My writings can be found here. As they say, things are "in the works" for some other projects. Right now, I'll recap all the USMTS events, either in person, or thanks to the fine folks at RacinDirt | USMTS, Dirt Modifieds & Live Racing Streams. The nights I'm at the track and in the pits, I'll have a race recap similar to my Mason City USMTS fair race article. A modified version of the Recliner Reactions those nights will still be available.
DirtInfo - YouTube I have a voice and face for writing so you won't see me here :). A weekly podcast my discord friends put on with a buffet of racing topics, series, schedules and other topics of interest. I will toss them a USMTS nugget or two when asked. More importantly, they'll always leave you with "One for the Road'.
